Sanet Solomon

Sanet (née Madonsela) Solomon is a Lecturer in the Department of Political Studies and Governance at the University of the Free State teaching Politics, Contemporary Approaches to Comparative Politics, and Governance and Political Transformation in Africa. She is a seasoned political analyst and thought leader, internationally published author, double cum laude graduate, member of the International Golden Key Honour Society, and PhD Candidate in the Centre for Gender and Africa Studies at the University of the Free State. She currently serves as a Council Member of the South Africa South Africa Association of Political Studies (SAAPS), and is a member of the International Political Sciences Association (IPSA) and British International Studies Association (BISA). Additionally, she also serves as a Reviewer for numerous double-blind peer reviewed accredited journals. Examples include Politikon (Taylor and Francis) and Local Government Studies (Taylor and Francis), Insight on Africa (Sage), Politeia (UNISA Press Journal), and International Studies (Sage).

Her research focuses on Africa (particularly South Africa) and the Middle East. Her most recent publication is a co-edited book titled BRICS and Climate Change: Balancing National Interests, National Development Goals and Global Environmental Sustainability. Sanet previously worked as a tenured Lecturer in the Department of Political Sciences at the University of South Africa (UNISA) teaching second year South Africa Politics (PSC2601) and Political Science and Research (HPPSC81) at Honours level. She also previously served as the IAPSS Africa Regional Chair and IAPSS Politikon Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
